This is my final design for the cover of my book. I have kept it black and white as then I can screen print it. My logo design is on the back of the book, this is something that I want to continue doing throughout all my work so then can create an identity.

I have made the Illustration of India smaller this has given the imagery more detail. Also I have tried to incorporate the title of my book within the Imagery.

To give the Imagery more interest I have created a pattern within the outline.

Here I created an outline of india, this is appropriate for my book as the illustrations within the book are influenced from my trip to India.

Here I have all my artwork ready to send to Heraldic pottery. I have to send all the artwork as A3 pdf files. I have tried to get as much artwork onto these sheets, I have two tea sets of ceramic artwork on these sheets. Also I have created extra logo prints that could be applied to bottom of each piece of ceramic, this will give the identity of my work.

Here I have created the a template of a plate to fit my Illustrations around. This has helped me to get a feel of how the plates may look. Looking at the compesition of the illustrations.

Layouts For India Book

I like having the type quite separated as this will allow me to create imagery between the text, maybe a image that relates to the illustration.

Having the type together looks a too bold, I think reconsidering the font and size will help to create a more aesthetically pleasing cover

Here I have made the text smaller, and I feel it looks more appropriate for the book. I will next have to consider the imagery that will be suitable with this type.

Design to be applied around mug

Here I have taken all my illustration work, and put it together. This template of a rectangle is a template for a mug, this illustration will be applied to a mug.

India Illustration

This Illustration work is Influenced from my trip to India. I started by taking photographs and Illustrating over the top of them. After illustrating from photographs, I then screen printed my images. The next process that I went through was to enlarge the images and then draw back into them. Then I made the images to a template of A6, which gave the images great detail. I screen printed the A6 formats onto different paper stocks and different colours of ink.

This gave me a vast amount of Imagery to play with. The next stage of the illustration I decided to go with, was to start cutting and sticking, overlapping layers of imagery. This gave the imagery a depth and interest. I scanned in all my Imagery and started playing around on photoshop, testing with colour balance and contrast.

Illustration Character Using Influence from Pattern

This fluent Illustration comes from my inspiration looking at paisley pattern, I feel that the style of this Illustration could be projected into pattern very easily.

This is my Illustration using influence from pattern to create my characters. I feel that they have appropriate styles to be put onto materials. I want to use ceramics as a template to Illustrate the characters around.

I like the idea of having the work as templates and then enlarging once being clicked on the right. The enthuses is on the work and this way of laying it out works best.

I feel that this layout for my website works best on this type of template. Using a clear white background enhances the actual work, using also simple type layouts gives more interest towards the actual graphics.

Splashpage

For my own personal website i have first created a slash page, that then leads onto a home page. I would like to have this splash page animated, using flash i would like the separate pieces of imagery to role onto the main page.

Buisness cards set up for Screenprint

I have now created an identity for myself by using my paisley logo. I now want to create my own personal business card, i feel screen print production of these cards would be the most appropriate method. Using screen print means i can create a lot of variations of my business cards, using different paper stock and different colour. This will make each business card unique when handed out.

I think the front design is quite quirky and elaborate, so for the back of the business i wanted to keep it quite subtle. Also the screen print look and paper stock will enhance the type.

Letterhead

This is my final letterhead design, I feel that design of the letterhead is appropriate as it takes

influence from my business card. I feel keeping it black, using screen printing to print onto different stocks of paper.

This border for my letterhead comes from the influence of my logo, I want all my personal stationary to have a continuity throughout.

Logo Design

I have turned my logo design vertical, as the shape of the paisley gives a subtle 'P' which represents my second name Patel.

Identity and website

I feel that this logo is very appropriate as an identity for myself, as it en captures my name and ethnicity within the paisley style.

Here I have added more detail to the design. This could give it more depth and give the more Indian style to elaborate on my ethnicity.

I have been looking at indian paisley pattern to help create my identity (logo). This i feel is an approriate approach as i want to start creating a illustration practice around indian pattern making. Having a logo that shows this will help me create a clearer identity for my design practice.

From looking at paisley design, i now want to create my website and other pieces of stationary based around this design method. Using outline with inspiration from the style of paisley.

This template idea works well as the Image is taking up the majority of page, with the navigation buttons at the bottom. I feel that the small icons rolling along the bottom would work well, an easy way to navigate from image to image.

This template could work really well as everything within the site operates from a small space. Keeping everything together would keep the design quite tight and minimal, using negative space.

Using two templates, one for type and one for imagery. This is a good way to differentiate the image based work to the more type based work. Also using a cursor to scroll up and down helps to keep the site easy to navigate around.

I feel this layout could work well, as the en thesis is on the image which takes up majority of the space on the page.
I feel that this approach would be the best way to showcase the work, keeping a strong idea of imagery throughout the site.

Here I have looked at different type formats to create my own personalised logo from.
